Originally just a recording project in Brooklyn, NY, with pianist John Bickerton, Mark and John recorded a few standards and some other, more current and obscure tunes. Mark loved the music, and wanted to perform them. Fortunately for him, former Counterparts leader Sandy Santra had moved to New York City and was willing to support him on piano. They did shows at Danny’s Skylight Room, to confused audiences, playing standards as well as songs from Joy Division, Birthday Party, the Rolling Stones, and even a Black Sabbath medley.
